Our firm was formed in 1975 when three classmates from the University of Alberta Law School, Gerald R Polack, Dick W Meindersma and Ken J Smith completed their articles of clerkship and struck out on their own as “Polack, Meindersma and Smith”. Brian R Liddell joined the firm 1985 and the firm was renamed “Polack, Meindersma, Smith & Liddell”. After Ken left the firm and Gerry and Dick passed away, Brian continued to carry on the traditions and reputation of the firm they created and built. Brian passed the torch in 2024 by selling the firm to Valerie Couture, however, he remains active in the firm continuing to work with clients while enjoying the benefits of his years of dedication to the firm.
